telling my story
Hear my story. I am a speaker, writer and advocate. I share my story to bring change and awareness to Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women across Turtle Island. Speaking about my past has helped me on my healing journey and, most importantly, empowers me to continue reclaiming my culture, identity, power, and place as an Indigenous woman.
In 2017, I testified for the National Inquiry for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG); being able to tell my story was a pivotal moment in my healing journey, which led me to the path of advocacy. In 2019 I joined the National Family Advisory Circle (NFAC), where I had the honour of sharing, healing and listening with MMIWG2S+ family members and survivors; this experience gave me the strength to forge forward with a mission to live on purpose, speak and raise awareness for MMIWG2S+. As an intergenerational survivor of MMIWG2S+, it is important for me to give back and raise awareness for causes and organizations close to my heart.
